Shenzhen Robot Tour Guides Take Up Posts and the Way Out for Human Tour Guides

On October 12, 2026, Pinchain Tourism published a cultural tourism observation report stating that the Shenzhen cultural tourism robot tour guide "Xiao Ji" has officially taken up its post, able to lead tours, provide full-journey commentary, and support switching among more than one hundred foreign languages, suitable for scenarios such as city sightseeing, business receptions, study tours for parents and children, and receptions for foreign guests. The report holds that AI will not completely replace tour guides, but will dismantle and fragmentally replace standardized commentary work; the future business format will be human-machine collaboration of "human tour guides + embodied intelligent tour guides," and it suggests that AI tour guide qualification certification and intelligent service access systems be introduced as soon as possible. At present, the progress of this event is the robot taking up its post and the industry response discussion presented in the above report.
