Visitor Flow Grows at China-Vietnam Detian Waterfall Cross-Border Tourism Cooperation Zone

The China-Vietnam Detian (Ban Gioc) Waterfall Cross-Border Tourism Cooperation Zone is China's first cross-border tourism cooperation zone, operating on a "one-day tour of two countries" route. A report dated October 19, 2026, shows that from January to September 2026 the cooperation zone recorded a cumulative 54,450 inbound and outbound visitor trips, up 40.4% year on year, already exceeding the total for all of last year. In the same period, in the first half of 2026 Guangxi received Vietnamese inbound overnight visitors up 81% year on year, with Vietnam remaining the top source country for inbound visitors to Guangxi. On customs clearance and supporting facilities, Shuolong Customs has achieved touchless clearance within 20 seconds, and departure tax refund stores have opened.
