JTB becomes a full member of the Japan Esports Union

On October 1, 2026, JTB became a full member of the Japan Esports Union (JESU). In an announcement on October 28, 2026, JTB said it will use esports as a starting point to promote regional revitalization and cross-generational exchange, and plans to extend esports events from an "arena" into a "place of exchange," combining watching competitions with tourism experiences in the host locations, and using its accommodation, transportation and other businesses to support players and event operations. JTB said the background to this move is that JSPO, JESU and JGSC have announced they will develop the "National Prefectural Esports Championship" into "JAPAN GAMES ESPORTS."
