KeyData Survey: Micro-Small Short-Term Rental Property Managers Have Highest AI Adoption Rate

On October 7, 2026, PhocusWire reported the results of KeyData's 2027 Vacation Rental Industry Outlook survey. The survey shows that micro-small short-term rental managers with fewer than 29 units have the highest AI adoption rate, with 89% of U.S. respondents using AI in at least one area, the most common uses being guest messaging automation (50%) and social media content (42%). Extra-large operators with more than 500 units have the lowest overall adoption rate, but are strongest in analytical scenarios such as portfolio performance insights (53%). About 77% of U.S. short-term rental managers expect revenue growth in 2027, up from 69% the previous year.
