Google brings Gemini conversational features to Google Maps for CarPlay

On October 21, 2026, Google announced that in the United States and globally, Apple CarPlay users can now converse directly with Gemini in Google Maps. Drivers can ask multi-step questions, such as asking about parks with good scenery, the best travel time, and the weather, and have Gemini start navigation or add instructions such as avoiding toll roads.
