AirAsia Bahrain Hub Maiden Flight Target Set for March 2027

AirAsia Group has set March 2027 as the target time for the first passenger flights at its Bahrain hub. This is the first time the group has given a clear timetable since the US-Iran war forced it to adjust its plans. On November 1, 2026, the group appointed seven board members for AirAsia Bahrain, all non-executive directors. CEO Tony Fernandes said the regional geopolitical situation required adjusting the original plans, but the commitment to Bahrain remains unchanged, and it will strive to launch flights before March 2027 when conditions permit.
