Yunnan releases version 2.0 of positive and negative lists for residential tourism development

On October 20, 2026, the General Office of the People's Government of Yunnan Province released the "Yunnan Province Residential Tourism Development Positive and Negative Lists Version 2.0," setting 16 items in the positive list and 16 items in the negative list, effective from November 20. The positive list supports creating themed residential tourism products such as hot springs, intangible cultural heritage, tea and coffee, and traditional Chinese medicine health and wellness, and supports business entities in digital and intelligent transformation and expanding online marketing, booking, customization, and settlement services; the negative list prohibits illegal construction of residential tourism projects in nature reserves as well as large-scale demolition and construction, false advertising, and other behaviors. Currently the lists have been released and will take effect from November 20.
