Expedia Group has acquired AI travel planning and booking app Layla for an undisclosed amount. The move accelerates its AI strategy by combining Layla's planning and personalization capabilities with Expedia's supply, scale, and technology. Layla was founded in 2023 and attracted €3 million in seed funding with backers including Lastminute.com founder Brent Hoberman. Expedia unveiled a ChatGPT app in November 2025.
