The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) published travel advice for Bhutan, still current as of 8 September 2026 and last updated on 10 December 2025, adding new information about dual nationals returning to the UK (see the 'Entry requirements' page). The FCDO states that no travel can be guaranteed safe and advises reading the full guide and obtaining appropriate travel insurance covering the itinerary, planned activities and emergency expenses.
Drukair, Royal Bhutan Airlines, the national flag carrier of Bhutan, signed its first global distribution agreement with Amadeus, making its fares, schedules and inventory available on the Amadeus Travel Platform to travel agencies worldwide. Headquartered at Paro International Airport, Drukair connects Bhutan with key Asian cities including Bangkok, Delhi, Kathmandu, Singapore, Dhaka, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bagdogra, Bodh Gaya and Dubai. Travel sellers in India, Thailand, Singapore, Nepal, Bangladesh, the UAE, Australia, the UK, Germany and France will be able to issue tickets, with further global rollout slated for 2026.
The U.S. Department of State has reissued its travel advisory for Bhutan at Level 1: Exercise Normal Precautions. The advisory was reissued after a periodic review without changes. It mentions enrolling in STEP, reviewing the Country Security Report and CDC travel health information, and recommends purchasing travel insurance.
