    UK FCDO Updates Jordan Travel Advice on Iranian Missile Strikes

    The UK FCDO updated its Jordan travel advice on Sept. 10, 2026, adding information about Iranian missile strikes on Jordan. The FCDO advises against all travel within 3km of the border with Syria. Since July 8, Iran has carried out strikes and retaliatory attacks in several locations including Jordan against U.S. military and civilian infrastructure, with renewed attacks and interceptions in and around Aqaba in early September. The FCDO says British nationals should be prepared for possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and travel disruptions.

    FCDO Updates Georgia Travel Advice

    The UK FCDO updated its Georgia travel advice on 15 September 2026, advising against all travel to the Russian-occupied regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, and against all but essential travel to areas immediately next to the administrative boundary lines. Escalation in the Middle East has caused global travel disruption, including airspace closures and flight delays/cancellations, affecting plans even outside the Middle East. FCDO cannot provide face-to-face support in South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
