    Jordan Travel Advisory: Level 3, Reconsider Travel

    The U.S. Department of State has issued a Level 3 travel advisory for Jordan, advising travelers to reconsider travel due to terrorism and armed conflict. Some areas have increased risk, including Zarqa City, Ma'an City, and parts of Ma'an Governorate. As of August 29, 2026, family members may join U.S. government employees working in Jordan. Due to hostilities between the U.S. and Iran, there is an ongoing threat of drone and missile attacks and significant disruptions to commercial flights.     Jordan Travel Advisory Raised to Level 3: Reconsider Travel

    The U.S. Department of State has raised its travel advisory for Jordan to Level 3 'Reconsider Travel' due to terrorism and armed conflict. Following hostilities between the U.S. and Iran, Jordan faces threats of drone and missile attacks and significant disruptions to commercial flights. Non-emergency U.S. government personnel and their families were ordered to depart on March 2. Certain areas, including borders with Syria and Iraq, are under Level 4 'Do Not Travel' advisories.

    UK FCDO Updates Jordan Travel Advice on Iranian Missile Strikes

    The UK FCDO updated its Jordan travel advice on Sept. 10, 2026, adding information about Iranian missile strikes on Jordan. The FCDO advises against all travel within 3km of the border with Syria. Since July 8, Iran has carried out strikes and retaliatory attacks in several locations including Jordan against U.S. military and civilian infrastructure, with renewed attacks and interceptions in and around Aqaba in early September. The FCDO says British nationals should be prepared for possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and travel disruptions.
