    Tajikistan - Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution

    The U.S. Department of State reissued its Tajikistan travel advisory after a periodic review, keeping the country at Level 2 (Exercise Increased Caution) due to terrorism risk, unexploded landmines, occasional violence near the Kyrgyz Republic border, and limited ability to assist U.S.-Tajik dual nationals. The border with Afghanistan and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO) are Level 3 (Reconsider Travel). Following the March 13, 2025 signing and ratification of bilateral agreements between the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan, cross-border movement resumed at the Guliston–Kyzyl-Bel and Madaniyat–Kayragach crossing points.
