Tongcheng Travel released its 2026 Mid-Autumn Holiday Travel Report on September 27. Data shows local and nearby trips accounted for nearly 60% of bookings during the three-day holiday, while cross-province orders rose 21% versus this year's Dragon Boat Festival and local attraction ticket bookings grew 17% year on year. Longer-haul demand was boosted by "take 3 days off for 13 days" leave-stacking, with flight bookings over 1,200 km up more than 30% versus Dragon Boat and outbound hotel bookings up 47% year on year, making outbound travel the hottest mini-holiday segment so far this year.
