    140th Canton Fair Opens Oct 15, Marking 70th Anniversary

    At a Sept 18 State Council Information Office briefing, officials said the 140th Canton Fair will run in three phases in Guangzhou from Oct 15 to Nov 4, marking the event's 70th anniversary. Guangzhou is upgrading services across history, present and future dimensions: airlines offering dedicated discounts, dedicated channels at the airport and Pazhou port, dedicated bus and metro timetables, more than 2,000 taxis and ride-hailing vehicles dispatched daily, RMB 20 million in dining vouchers, complimentary one-day tours for overseas buyers, more than 16,000 merchants accepting foreign cards, and over 1,750 shops offering departure tax refunds.
