    Spend Insights Report: T&E Spending Growth and Violation Analysis

    The Spend Insights Report by SAP Concur and Oversight shows T&E spending rose 73% year over year in 2022, with travel-specific spending up 178% from Q1 to Q4, including airline spending up 400% and lodging up 207%. Employee out-of-pocket cash spending jumped 81% and was the top category, accounting for 44% of all violations.     SAP Concur and Oversight released the "2021 Spend Insights Report" analyzing 2021 spending to inform 2022. The report shows significant rises in expense violations and exceptions: duplicate mileage submissions rose 2,127% from Q3 to Q4, missing receipt affidavits rose 306% over the year, excessive personal expenses rose nearly 22%, and excessive missing receipts rose almost 60%.
