UK FCDO Updates Nepal Travel Advice After Rasuwa Flooding

The UK FCDO updated its Nepal travel advice on September 11, 2026. On August 26, 2026, major flooding in Rasuwa district and the Nepal-China border area caused widespread damage, severely damaging buildings, roads, transport and communications infrastructure, with Gorkha, Nuwakot and Dhading also affected. Nepalese authorities have warned of further flooding risk, and affected areas may remain unstable. The Nepalese government established a toll-free Nepalese-language emergency number, 1234, and a dedicated hotline, 1144. The Family Assistance Centre at the British Embassy Kathmandu remains available.
