Somalia Travel Advice: FCDO Advises Against All Travel
The UK FCDO advises against all travel to Somalia, including Somaliland, except for the regions of Awdal, Maroodijeh, and Sahil, where it advises against all but essential travel. This is due to the threat from terrorist groups and continuing violence. Recently, fighting between al-Shabaab and the Somali Government has increased near Mogadishu. FCDO support is severely limited in Somalia; British nationals should have personal emergency plans not relying on the UK government.
