Hong Kong Travel Authority Suspends Store Registration for 30 Days Over Coerced Shopping

The Hong Kong Travel Industry Authority announced that due to an incident in February involving mainland Chinese tour group passengers being coerced into shopping, the store 'Kaiser Jewellery International Limited' operating as '凯旋珠宝玉石文化馆' failed to stop the guide's behavior. Its registration under the 'Administrative Scheme for Registered Stores for Inbound Tour Groups' will be suspended for 30 days from August 26 to September 24, during which it cannot receive inbound tour groups. Directors, managers, and frontline staff must complete designated training within one month. The authority reminded travelers to contact them or police if treated unfairly.
