Korea's Fair Trade Commission Approves Korean Air-Asiana Mileage Integration

South Korea's Fair Trade Commission has formally approved the Korean Air-Asiana mileage integration plan. Under the plan, Asiana miles are retained for 10 years and can be converted to Korean Air SKYPASS miles at any time; flight-earned miles convert at 1:1 and partner-earned miles at 1:0.82. Asiana elite tiers will automatically match corresponding Korean Air tiers, and Korean Air will add a 'Morning Calm Select' tier with SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits. Post-integration award seat supply will exceed the two carriers' actual pre-integration redemption volumes, with major long-haul routes exceeding the highest redemption volumes of the past decade.
