On October 14, 2026, Booking.com released its 11th annual Travel Predictions (Travel Predictions 2027), saying that travel in 2027 will "not follow the script," being led by mood, shaped by budget, and defined by surprise. The research covered more than 28,000 travelers worldwide, showing that people are rethinking destinations, travel companions, and ways of experiencing things, involving trends such as mood-map itineraries, supernatural experiences, AI-assisted vacations, and couples using long-distance hiking to start conversations. The list of trending 2027 destinations announced the same day includes Reims, France; Monterey, California, United States; Sendai, Japan; Rosario, Argentina; Puri, India; Christchurch, New Zealand; Bratislava, Slovakia; Goiânia, Brazil; and Pescara, Italy, and gives recommended accommodations in each place, such as Domaine Les Crayères in Reims, Spindrift Inn in Monterey, and TAOYA Akiu in Sendai.
