Global Hotel Construction Pipeline Hits Record in Q2 2026, US Leads

According to Lodging Econometrics, the global hotel construction pipeline reached a record 15,976 projects (about 2.4 million rooms) in Q2 2026, up 0.7% year-over-year. The US led with 5,975 projects, followed by China with 3,588. Brand conversions hit a record 2,927 projects, up 12%, and luxury and upper upscale segments also reached record highs.
