Independent hotel reliance on OTAs increased in 2025

Cloudbeds research shows OTA share for independent hotels rose to 63.4% in 2025, with North America seeing the largest increase. While RevPAR grew 19% since 2019, acquisition costs rose 25%. The study also found higher OTA cancellation rates and a decline in US travelers using search engines, with AI platform usage doubling.
