Fifth Shanxi Arts Festival Opens for One-Month Run

On September 11, the Fifth Shanxi Arts Festival opened at the Shanxi Grand Theatre, with the first performance of the 19th Shanxi "Xinghua Award" competition showcase, the drama "Children of Jin-Sui", launching a month-long arts programme. The festival is co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Taiyuan Municipal Party Committee and the Taiyuan Municipal Government, and comprises four sections — performances, exhibitions, academic activities and extended activities — with 15 special events.
