ACFE Poll: 80% of Fraud Examiners Back AI and ML in Travel and Expense Programs

A SAP Concur blog post cites an Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) webcast poll on August 12 in which 80% of members said AI and ML should be used in travel and expense programs to combat organizational fraud. The post says AI and ML let audit teams shift from searching for issues to analyzing them, reducing the cost and duration of fraud research. It also notes fewer than half (41%) of ACFE members use T&E data in individual or departmental investigations all the time or often, while 59% use it only sometimes or never because their organizations lack proper reporting or means to share and analyze data across departments.
