    The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) updated its Ecuador travel advice, advising against all but essential travel to several coastal provinces and areas within 20km of the Ecuador-Colombia border, while airside transit at Guayaquil Airport is unaffected. Ecuador's government declared a 60-day state of emergency from 15 September across eight provinces, increasing police and military presence, with a midnight-to-5am curfew in El Oro, Guayas, Los Rios and Manabi from 17 to 30 September.
