    Brazil ANAC Resolution 800 Takes Effect on Unruly Passengers

    Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) Resolution No. 800 took effect on 14 September 2026, setting rules for handling unruly passengers at airports and on board. Conduct is split into three severity tiers — unruly, serious and very serious — with fines of up to BRL 17,500; very serious acts can also trigger a no-fly list barring domestic flights for six to 12 months. Airlines or airports notify the passenger and then ANAC, which tracks sanctions via a Serpro-built system. Abear data show 1,764 unruly-passenger cases on domestic flights in 2025, up 66% from 2024.

    REAL ID Deadline Nears: New ID Rules for U.S. Domestic Flights

    The U.S. REAL ID federal compliance deadline is May 7, 2025. Congress passed the REAL ID Act in 2005 to implement the 9/11 Commission recommendation to set minimum security standards for identification such as driver's licenses; state-issued IDs from non-compliant states will no longer be accepted by federal agencies such as TSA. Compliant IDs are generally marked with a star, and travelers can verify their state's status via the Department of Homeland Security's REAL ID page.     Business Travel Bookings Increased 3% for Domestic Flights, 6% for International Flights in 2024

    SAP Concur analyzed domestic and international air travel bookings in Concur Travel from January 1 to December 31, 2024, comparing airfare and travel volume to the same period in 2023. Results show domestic travel volume up nearly 3% year over year and international travel volume up nearly 6%. July saw the largest domestic booking increase at 11%, while December saw the largest international increase at 16%. Average domestic airfare remained elevated compared to 2023, peaking at $597 in March and dropping to $540 in August. International airfare was flat in the first half and accelerated in the second half, rising 11% in December.
