    U.S. Q2 2026 Average Domestic Air Fare Edged Down 0.02% Quarter over Quarter

    The U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported that the average U.S. domestic air fare in Q2 2026 was $436.36, down 0.02% from the inflation-adjusted Q1 2026 fare of $436.45. On an unadjusted basis, the Q2 fare rose 2.0% quarter over quarter, the highest second-quarter and single-quarter fare on BTS record. By trip type, one-way tickets accounted for 45% ($307) and round-trips 55% ($535). Starting in Q3 2025, BTS moved to the OD40 collection program, raising ticket sampling from 10% to 40%; earlier fares remain based on the 10% sample.

    Survey: 55% of CFOs Trust AI Over Humans to Catch Expense Errors

    The seventh annual SAP Concur Global Business Travel Survey added CFO perspectives, surveying 600 CFOs across six markets. 55% of CFOs expect AI to catch more errors and potential fraud than their teams currently do, while 45% are concerned about more errors and undiscovered fraud slipping through. 9% of CFOs know employees are using AI to attempt to falsify travel expenses or receipts, and 67% say it is at least somewhat likely.

    H1 2025 International Business Travel: Volume Up, Fares Steady

    SAP Concur analyzed international air bookings in Concur Travel from Jan 1 to Jun 30, 2025, comparing with the same period in 2024. Global international business travel volume rose 2.6% year over year in H1 2025, up 4.5% in Q1 and 0.6% in Q2.
