    Fairmont Debuts in Thailand with Opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit

    Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with Asset World Corp (AWC), announced the opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, marking Fairmont's first hotel in Thailand. Located in Bangkok's Sukhumvit neighborhood, the hotel features 416 guestrooms and 58 suites, offering dining, wellness, meetings, and events. The design incorporates Thailand's botanical heritage, with seven dining venues including rooftop concepts and an underground entertainment venue. Over 2,000 square meters of event space includes a grand ballroom. The hotel is designed to LEED Gold standards, emphasizing sustainability.

    IHG becomes the first hotel group to launch its own LINE MINI App in Thailand and Taiwan, following last year's Japan launch, accelerating its regional digital strategy. The app integrates booking for over 7,000 hotels, IHG One Rewards membership and management, with exclusive launch campaigns. LINE has 195 million monthly active users in Asia, including 56 million in Thailand and 22 million in Taiwan.

    The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) updated its Thailand travel advice on 28 September 2026. The FCDO advises against all but essential travel to Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat provinces and four districts in southern Songkhla near the Thailand-Malaysia border, as well as the Hat Yai to Padang Besar train line, due to regular attacks in these border provinces.
