China Air Transport Association Calls for Lawful Protection of Flight Attendants' Rights Regarding China Eastern Flight Attendant Kneeling Incident
Regarding the "China Eastern flight attendant kneeling" incident on October 5, the China Air Transport Association called for lawful protection of flight attendants' rights and joint efforts to build cabin service order. The China Air Transport Association cited the Civil Aviation Law of the People's Republic of China, effective July 1, 2026, pointing out that the law prohibits picking quarrels and provoking trouble, insulting or beating crew members on board aircraft, and added a special section on passenger rights protection in Chapter VI. The China Air Transport Association called on member airlines to optimize on-site handling procedures for in-flight disruptive behavior, implement the handling principle of unified leadership by the captain and close cooperation by all crew members, and called on passengers to defend their rights rationally through legal channels such as complaints, appeals, and litigation.
