China Railway Operated 2,501 Tourist Trains from January to August
According to China State Railway Group, from January to August this year China Railway carried 3.32 billion passengers, up 3.9% year-on-year and a record high for the period; it operated 2,501 tourist trains, including 1,387 tourist special trains and 1,114 tourist line trains. It also ran 812 themed trains, with multi-ride and period tickets covering 78 lines and tourist multi-ride tickets covering 27 lines. In cross-border services, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail carried 23.408 million cross-border passengers, and the China-Laos railway carried 245,000.
