    MCT Briefing: Poetry Festival and Peking Opera Festival to Highlight Culture-Tourism Integration

    China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism held its third-quarter 2026 routine press briefing in Beijing on September 20 to present preparations for the 8th China Poetry Festival and the 11th China Peking Opera Festival. The poetry festival runs October 12-23 in Taizhou, Zhejiang, under the theme 'Poetry Surging from Mountains and Seas, Poetic China'; the Peking Opera festival runs October 15-November 5 in Wuhan, Hubei, with seven main activity strands.     11th China Peking Opera Festival Opens Oct 15 in Wuhan

    At the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's third-quarter 2026 press conference in Beijing on Sept 20, Wuhan deputy secretary-general Zhang Mingwu said the 11th China Peking Opera Festival will run Oct 15 to Nov 5 in Wuhan under the theme 'Jingcai Ruxi.' Activities reach the Wuhan metropolitan area and opera-featured counties such as Luotian in Huanggang, covering communities, villages, universities, commercial districts and scenic spots, online and offline.     11th China Peking Opera Festival Opens October 15 in Wuhan

    At the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's third-quarter 2026 press conference in Beijing on September 20, officials presented the 11th China Peking Opera Festival, to be held from October 15 to November 5 in Wuhan, Hubei, co-hosted by the ministry and the Hubei provincial government. The opening ceremony on October 15 at Hongshan Auditorium features the Hubei Peking Opera Theatre's original work "Hanyang Zao"; the closing ceremony on November 5 at Qintai Grand Theatre features Wuhan Peking Opera Theatre's new production "Yuanyang Jian".
