    Inner Mongolia Deploys Scenic-Area Renewal and Market Cleanup

    A research team from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Department of Culture and Tourism visited key scenic areas in Hulunbuir, including Hulun Lake, Moergele River and Aoluguya, to inspect 5A-level scenic-area creation and re-evaluation preparations, and examined horse-riding tourism market rectification and industry standardization in Heishantou, Ergun. A regional tourism work symposium was then held in Ergun, deploying tasks including scenic-area upgrading, 5A creation, market rectification, anti-organized-crime work in tourism, and winter tourism preparation.

    China Ice and Snow Tourism Report: 360 Million Leisure Trips Expected This Winter

    The China Tourism Academy (Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism) released the China Ice and Snow Tourism Development Report (2026) on January 5. It says that after roughly a decade of development, China's ice and snow tourism has shifted from a niche experience to a mass trend and from a single season to all four seasons. Combined estimates put leisure trips for the 2025-2026 winter at 360 million and leisure revenue at RMB 450 billion, with about 220 million trips primarily motivated by ice and snow tourism.     Amadeus Report: Caribbean and Central America Winter Travel Surges, China Searches Jump

    Amadeus and UN Tourism published the Travel Insights 2025: Focus on the Americas report, based on Amadeus Navigator360 data. Caribbean winter travel peaks from December to March, while Central America passenger demand rose 3.1% year-on-year. Peru (+15%), Argentina (+15%), and Puerto Rico (+9%) lead travel growth to the Caribbean, with search interest surging in China (+427%), Mexico (+47%), and Peru (+46%).
