Virdee and Salto Partner to Deliver NFC Mobile Wallet Room Keys

Digital check-in provider Virdee announced an expanded integration with smart access vendor Salto that lets hotel guests receive room keys directly in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Using NFC, guests can tap phones or smartwatches against Salto door locks without unlocking the device or opening a native app. The integration connects key issuance with Virdee's automated check-in pipeline covering ID verification, credit card authorization, registration and room assignment, and wallet keys remain usable for hours after a phone battery dies via power-reserve features.
