    UK CAA welcomes prison sentence over fraudulent travel agencies

    The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) welcomed the prison sentence in a fraud case involving Zulu Travel Services Ltd. Following an Insolvency Service investigation, Darren Anderson, 43, ran several businesses under aliases while disqualified as a company director and attempted to obtain an ATOL licence for Zulu Travel Services Ltd, which was never progressed after the application fee went unpaid. Anderson was sentenced to four years in prison. Zulu Travel Services Ltd was wound up in the public interest in June 2024 after failing to keep company accounts or pay bills, and false accounts were submitted to Companies House.

    China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism Releases Sixth Batch of Forced-Consumption Cases

    China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism published its sixth batch of typical cases on forced consumption in the tourism market, covering 13 cases. Since March 2026, local culture and tourism authorities and cultural market enforcement agencies have continued a campaign against guide misconduct and forced consumption. Cases include arranging shopping or paid add-ons without tourist consent, unreasonably low-priced tours, and guides threatening or deceiving tourists into buying goods. Penalties included confiscation of illegal gains, suspension of operations, fines, and revocation of travel agency business licences.
