Fuzhou Changle Xianying Palace Maritime Silk Road Cultural Tourism Upgrade Project Approved

On August 13, the 'Maritime Silk Road' cultural tourism upgrade project of Changle Xianying Palace was approved for filing. The palace was originally built in 1138 during the Song Dynasty and rediscovered in 1992 during the construction of Changle Airport. Over 50 clay statues were unearthed with butterflies flying around, earning it the name 'Butterfly Palace'. Covering 30 mu, it consists of a new above-ground palace and an ancient underground palace, operated by Xianying Palace Scenic Area Tourism Development Company.
