    MCT Briefing: Poetry Festival and Peking Opera Festival to Highlight Culture-Tourism Integration

    China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism held its third-quarter 2026 routine press briefing in Beijing on September 20 to present preparations for the 8th China Poetry Festival and the 11th China Peking Opera Festival. The poetry festival runs October 12-23 in Taizhou, Zhejiang, under the theme 'Poetry Surging from Mountains and Seas, Poetic China'; the Peking Opera festival runs October 15-November 5 in Wuhan, Hubei, with seven main activity strands. Both events emphasize culture-tourism integration, with poetry-route itineraries, public-benefit performances and intangible-heritage experiences.

    8th China Poetry Festival Opens October 12 in Taizhou, Zhejiang

    At the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's third-quarter 2026 press conference in Beijing on September 20, officials presented the 8th China Poetry Festival, to be held from October 12 to 23 in Taizhou, Zhejiang under the theme "Poetry Surging from Mountains and Seas, Poetic China". It is co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the China Writers Association and the Zhejiang provincial government.
