On September 24, the State Council Information Office held a press conference under the "Starting the 15th Five-Year Plan" series. Wang Jianhua, spokesperson and vice minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period a second national intangible cultural heritage (ICH) census will be conducted to establish a master catalogue of ICH resources. As of end-2025, China had 1,557 national-level ICH representative items and 3,994 representative inheritors, with over 100,000 ICH representative items at all levels.
