Fengning Builds Horse-Culture IP to Drive Multi-Sector Tourism

China Tourism News reported that Fengning County in Chengde, Hebei, is deepening a horse-culture IP based on its grassland landscape while integrating tourism with intangible heritage, agriculture, and wellness. Datan Town has more than 6,000 horses, one of China's highest township counts; the county introduced a subsidy policy with breeding subsidies and horse insurance. Fengning has built 41 heritage bases, workshops, and homestays, with annual intangible-heritage product sales exceeding 50 million yuan, over 550 training sessions, more than 120,000 trainees, and over 1,500 jobs. The county has 2 four-star hotels and 67 boutique homestays, with recent peak daily visitors reaching 60,000.
