    UK Civil Aviation Authority publishes ATOL September renewal data

    The UK Civil Aviation Authority published data after completing the September 2026 ATOL licence renewals; there are currently 1,624 travel companies holding ATOL licences. Of the 1,042 licences due to expire on 30 September, 951 have been renewed, while a further 42 are still in the application process or have not yet met the licence conditions. As of the end of August 2026, 20 million passengers have enjoyed ATOL-protected holidays this year, flat or slightly up on the previous year.

    UK Civil Aviation Authority 2025 Passenger Survey: Airport satisfaction remains high, more people travel to airports by public transport

    The UK Civil Aviation Authority released its 2025 passenger survey, interviewing about 175,000 departing passengers at England's eight busiest airports. Airport satisfaction rose from 8.36 points in 2024 to 8.39 points (out of 10). Passenger volume at the eight airports reached 225 million, a year-on-year increase of 2%; the share of public transport travel rose to 38%, while private cars or taxis fell to 62%. Business travel accounted for 13% and leisure travel accounted for 87%, both unchanged from the previous year.
