2026 Gansu County Tourism Report: Three-Tier Rankings Reveal Operating Chains

Meadin Research released its 2026 Gansu county-level tourism development report, analysing the province through a three-tier framework of counties, cultural-tourism groups and scenic areas. In H1 2026 Gansu received 217 million visits and RMB 152 billion in tourism spending, up 10.1% and 15.2% year on year; inbound visitors reached 146,800, up 44.3%. The report argues the dividing line for county rankings is shifting from resource endowment to the completeness of the operating chain, with only Dunhuang leading across all three tiers.
