Amex GBT Names Esquibel as Chief Technology Officer

American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Michael Esquibel as chief technology officer, leading the travel management company's technology and AI strategies. Esquibel has been with Amex GBT for eight years, most recently as SVP of technology and platform engineering. He will work to embed AI across the company, strengthen data infrastructure and develop AI tools for both TMC operational efficiency and the travel experience, while overseeing client onboarding, technology integration and the TMC's sales, servicing and mid- and back-office platforms. Previous chief information and technology officer David Thompson left the company in May.
