    Expensify Integrates Expense Tools with Anthropic's Claude

    Expensify announced an integration with Anthropic that makes its expense management tools available as a Claude for Small Business plugin. Expense managers can use natural-language prompts within Claude to analyze Expensify card, expense and receipt data, such as asking which expenses from the previous month are missing receipts or what was spent in a category over a period broken down by vendor. Expensify said it codes and matches transactions as they occur, catches out-of-policy items before they become problems, and delivers books ready to close at month-end.

    Amex GBT Names Esquibel as Chief Technology Officer

    American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Michael Esquibel as chief technology officer, leading the travel management company's technology and AI strategies. Esquibel has been with Amex GBT for eight years, most recently as SVP of technology and platform engineering. He will work to embed AI across the company, strengthen data infrastructure and develop AI tools for both TMC operational efficiency and the travel experience, while overseeing client onboarding, technology integration and the TMC's sales, servicing and mid- and back-office platforms. Previous chief information and technology officer David Thompson left the company in May.

    Thrust Carbon Adds Pre-Trip Briefings to EngageAI Tool

    Thrust Carbon has added a pre-trip briefing capability to its behavioral change tool EngageAI, which it launched earlier this year. The feature can reach travelers a day or two before departure with trip-specific policy guidance such as per diems and expense rules, plus destination information including traffic, weather and rail status that could affect the travel experience. EngageAI launched in January to steer travelers toward more economical and sustainable options. The company said it is now working to add traveler-specific messaging into the briefing based on data such as travel history and expense habits.

    Perk secures $300M credit facility for product, tech and AI investment

    Perk, the corporate travel and spend management platform formerly known as TravelPerk, has secured a $300 million private credit facility led by Neuberger Specialty Finance, with participation from Blue Owl Capital, Hercules Capital and Liquidity. The facility increases and replaces Perk's $134 million credit facility from mid-2024. Perk said it exceeded $300 million in annualized revenue and grew revenue 48% in 2025. Funds will support product, technology and AI investment; AI deployment has helped lift gross margins from 40% to the mid-70s in three years.
