    Marriott Appoints Chris Buckner as SVP of Loyalty

    Marriott International has appointed Chris Buckner as its new SVP of Loyalty, announced by Marriott EVP and chief customer officer Peggy Roe on LinkedIn. Buckner most recently served as EVP of product, loyalty and design at The Points Guy, and previously held loyalty-focused roles at PayPal and JetBlue. The appointment comes as Marriott increasingly positions its Bonvoy loyalty program within corporate travel programs, including Bonvoy-powered Business Access for small and midsized enterprises and a recently announced central reservation system integration with Spotnana that lets managed business travelers link their Bonvoy loyalty profiles to their Spotnana profiles.

    Several hotel industry developments this week: Highgate appointed Erica Doyne as chief marketing officer; she brings nearly two decades of hospitality and travel leadership experience, most recently as CMO of Cardinal Financial and previously in marketing executive roles at Hyatt.     Amex GBT Names Esquibel as Chief Technology Officer

    American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Michael Esquibel as chief technology officer, leading the travel management company's technology and AI strategies. Esquibel has been with Amex GBT for eight years, most recently as SVP of technology and platform engineering. He will work to embed AI across the company, strengthen data infrastructure and develop AI tools for both TMC operational efficiency and the travel experience, while overseeing client onboarding, technology integration and the TMC's sales, servicing and mid- and back-office platforms.
