Sichuan summons 52 travel agencies over complaints, demands rectification by end of September

On September 3, Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism summoned 52 travel agencies with the highest number of complaints. They must submit self-inspection reports and rectification plans within one week, and complete all rectifications by the end of September. Complaints focus on refund disputes, unauthorized itinerary changes, false advertising, poor tour guide service, and shopping disputes. Chengdu issued ten rigid measures, including banning disguised shopping arrangements and ordering suspension or license revocation for agencies with three administrative penalties within a year.
