Amadeus announced expanded availability of GOL's domestic content for all Amadeus-connected travel sellers in Brazil for the first time. Content will be available via EDIFACT on the Amadeus Travel Platform, enabling sellers to access broader GOL content through existing workflows. GOL is a leading Brazilian carrier, part of Abra Group, with over 60 codeshare and interline agreements.
Navan has acquired Brazilian travel management company Smartrips, expanding its presence in Latin America. This is Navan's first acquisition since its IPO in October 2025. Terms were not disclosed. Smartrips, founded in 2017, provides corporate travel procurement and management services in Brazil.
The UK FCDO updated its travel advice for Brazil, still advising against all but essential travel to parts of Amazonas State, including sections of the Amazon River and tributaries, Itaquaí River, Japurá River, and Rio Negro. The latest update includes information about taxi travel safety.
New Despegar CEO Gonzalo Estebarena shared that the company is investing $100 million annually for three years in AI development and plans to triple in size. Amadeus and UN Tourism released the Travel Insights 2025: Focus on the Americas report, drawing on Amadeus Navigator360 data. Air traffic across the Americas rose 1.8% year on year from July 2024 to June 2025, with South America (+6%) and Central America (+4%) leading capacity expansion. The Americas welcomed 217 million international arrivals in 2024, generating about USD 451 billion in international tourism export revenues including passenger transport. Mexico, Argentina and Colombia ranked among top origin markets, while China and Japan posted the highest search growth to the region at +143% and +32% respectively.

SAP Concur's seventh annual Global Business Travel Survey covered 3,750 business travelers across 24 markets, analyzing differences among Gen Z, millennials, Gen X and baby boomers. 97% are willing to travel for business, but Gen Z and millennials are more likely dissatisfied with current travel frequency. Younger generations more often report company travel cuts and are more open to AI and recommendations; older generations prefer manually sorting options. Air safety concern is similar across generations, 64% for Gen Z versus 52% for boomers.
GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A., one of Brazil's leading airlines and part of the Abra Group, has selected Amadeus SkyCAST to improve and accelerate network decision-making through accurate prediction of proposed schedules' profitability. The tool evaluates new hubs, routes, partnership opportunities, fleet mix changes and competitor actions, using mathematical models and machine learning to simulate passenger choice and revenue management, cutting what-if scenario evaluations from days to minutes.
The U.S. Department of State updated its Brazil travel advisory, keeping it at Level 2 (Exercise Increased Caution) and adding a kidnapping risk indicator. It cites crime and kidnapping, with higher-risk areas: anywhere within 160 km/100 miles of land borders with Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, French Guiana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela; informal housing developments such as favelas; and Brasilia's satellite cities at night are all Level 4 (Do Not Travel). It also notes violent crime, gang activity, drink spiking, and dating-app scams targeting foreigners, and advises U.S. government employees not to use municipal buses.
SAP Concur released its third CFO Insights report, based on a survey of 350 CFOs and senior finance leaders across eight countries from December 2024 to January 2025. 69% of finance leaders cite optimizing costs and efficiency as the top goal for growth, with 58% turning to automation and AI. 94% say AI has helped improve decision-making, and 73% say AI has positively impacted cost and risk reduction. Top external challenges cited are worsening economic conditions (41%), geopolitical tensions (37%), and supply chain constraints (32%).
SAP Concur's 2023 Global Business Travel Survey found 99% of surveyed parents are willing to travel for business in the next 12 months, but 44% of parents say they travel more than they'd like, versus 25% of non-parents. Parents are more likely to identify a threat to business travel (95% vs 86%), and more concerned about health and safety (48% vs 37%) and international or local conflicts (37% vs 27%). 62% of parents changed accommodations in the past 12 months because they felt unsafe, versus 36% of non-parents.

Portuguese plastic packaging company Logoplaste partnered with SAP Concur and Accenture to deploy a cloud-based expense and travel management solution across 18 countries. The project rolled out in two waves, starting with Portugal, USA, Canada, Brazil, UK, and Luxembourg, then expanding to 12 more countries. After implementation, the average time between expense preparation and payment is less than 11 days, and 11 countries use an exclusively digitized process. Over 1,000 users have submitted more than 1,000 expense reports, with a user rating of 4.3/5.
A survey commissioned by SAP Concur and conducted by Wakefield Research among 3,850 business travelers across 25 global markets in April-May 2021 reveals that 96% of respondents are willing to travel for business in the next 12 months, with 65% very willing. 92% are motivated by personal reasons such as making connections and experiencing new places. However, 80% worry that without increased travel, their personal and professional lives will suffer, and 18% fear job loss. Flexibility (72%) has surpassed vaccination requirements (62%) as the most pressing need. 89% plan to add personal vacation time to business trips.
SAP Concur published a podcast conversation in which Scott Daube of American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) shared how the company delivers a consistent online booking experience for global clients. Amex GBT has over 4,500 global clients using Concur; the project launched in 16 countries, built 130 customer sites, and involved 35 multinational customers.
