    State Council Briefing: Cultivating 'Small and Beautiful' Rural Cultural Tourism Formats

    On September 29, the State Council Information Office held a briefing on the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Mardan Mugaiti said the ministry will respond to emerging rural experiential consumption trends by developing premium rural leisure tourism routes, cultivating 'small and beautiful' rural cultural tourism formats, and developing new consumption scenarios such as harvest markets, sports events, and leisure camping. In 2025, leisure agriculture revenue reached 950 billion yuan.

    China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism: Tourism Complaints Down 39.24% This Year

    At a September 24 State Council Information Office briefing, Man Hongwei, Director of the Resource Development Department of China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, outlined three priorities for tourism during the 15th Five-Year Plan: strengthening tourism's livelihood benefits, refining services, and enhancing safety. Measures include encouraging scenic-area combo tickets, cultural tourism annual cards and dedicated consumption vouchers, optimizing reservations and opening hours at popular sites, improving service quality evaluation, and coordinating with relevant departments on tourism safety oversight. Nationwide tourism complaints fell 39.24% year on year this year.

    China to Expand Rural Place-Name Initiative in 15th Five-Year Plan

    Inner Mongolia Issues 15th Five-Year Tourism Development Plan

    The General Office of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government issued the 15th Five-Year Tourism Development Plan for Inner Mongolia. The plan targets significant high-quality tourism development by 2030, with domestic visitor arrivals aiming to grow about 4.9% annually, domestic tourism spending about 4.1% annually, and inbound visitor numbers and inbound tourism spending aiming to grow about 4.2% and 2.9% annually respectively.
