    Brazil's ANAC publishes AVSEC practices manual for cabin crew

    Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) published the Civil Aviation Manual for Cabin Crew, aimed at guiding airlines and airport operators on civil aviation security (AVSEC) requirements applicable to cabin departments. It provides explanations, examples and commentary on ANAC regulations covering onboard provisions and cabin service, and compiles the applicable regulations in its appendices. Because it contains Restricted AVSEC Information (IRA), the manual is not publicly accessible; under the need-to-know principle, access requires specific ANAC authorization, and the agency sends it directly to air and airport operators.

    Brazil ANAC opens registration for 4th AVSEC Continuous Improvement Workshop

    Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) has opened registration until 29 September for the 4th AVSEC Continuous Improvement Workshop, to be held online and synchronously on 6-8 October from 14:00 to 17:00. Aimed at civil aviation security professionals, the workshop covers best practices in AVSEC quality control, artificial intelligence in AVSEC, the Airport Security Programme (PSA), human factors in AVSEC, cabin crew security procedures, and management of unruly behaviour in aviation.     EASA launches IAM Hub Release 5 and updates SORA 2.5

    The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) launched the fifth release of its Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) Hub on 9 October 2025, alongside an updated SORA 2.5. The new version simplifies authorisation for UAS operations in the specific category by clarifying text, reducing room for interpretation, and lowering the evidence required for most low-risk Visual Line of Sight (SAIL II) operations, while relaxing certain requirements on containing drones within the operational volume. Release 5 adds a Drone Rule Navigator, the eSORA tool with a cross-border operations feature, a UAM guide co-created by UIC2, and new population density and land use data.
