Booking.com Research: What Travel Really Reveals About Relationships

Booking.com released its "Turbulence Test" research, based on a July 2026 survey of 1,253 U.S. adults. 35% of travelers say they discovered a companion was not compatible after traveling together, 35% have argued over money, 28% have considered ending the relationship or friendship, and 21% have bailed midway through a trip because of a bad travel partner (26% among Millennials). Travelers rate travel compatibility at an average importance of 74.1 out of 100, with 32% rating it 90 or higher.
