Pinglu Canal Zhuang Brocade Scroll Completed Ahead of September 16 Navigation

• On September 13, people of all ethnic groups in Guangxi and ASEAN students celebrated the completion of the Pinglu Canal Zhuang brocade scroll at Nanning's Minge Lake with folk songs and dance.
• The scroll was led by the Guangxi Zhuang Brocade Museum with the Guangxi Weaving and Embroidery Development Research Association and Guangxi Jinzhuangjin Cultural Investment Co., supported by Guangxi Vocational University of Technology, Guangxi University's Art College and Nanning Normal University's Guangxi Traditional Craft Research Institute.
• Museum director He Dingyu said weaving master Zhuo Jialing, brocade instructor Li Donglian and weavers including Zhuo Zhiping and Nong Peilian worked 20 hours a day in two shifts over 129 days to complete the weaving.
• The scroll is 13.4 meters long and 1.8 meters high, woven strictly at a 10,000:1 ratio to the canal's total length of 134.2 kilometers.
• The scroll depicts the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, the Madao, Qishi and Qingnian navigation hubs, Hengzhou jasmine, Qinzhou Nixing pottery and the Zhuang phoenix-kirin dance.
• The century project Pinglu Canal opens to navigation on September 16.
• The scroll was exhibited from September 13 to 15 at the fourth-floor multipurpose hall of the Zhuanggu Intangible Heritage Art Museum at Minge Lake in Nanning, and will be shown at the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities during this year's National Day Golden Week.
