    U.S. State Department: DRC at Level 4 'Do Not Travel'

    The U.S. Department of State rates the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) as Level 4 'Do Not Travel' due to health, crime, unrest, terrorism, and kidnapping. Because of the Ebola outbreak, the Department of Homeland Security has imposed new restrictions under Title 49 of the U.S. Code barring U.S. citizens and nationals who have been in the DRC within a 21-day period from boarding commercial flights to the United States; such persons must remain outside the DRC for 21 days before boarding.     Amadeus Report: Latin America's Emerging Destinations Rise

    Amadeus and UN Tourism released the 'Travel Insights 2026: Focus on the Americas' report. Between May 2025 and April 2026, passenger traffic across the Americas grew 0.8% year-over-year, but with significant subregional variation: Central America grew 7.5%, South America 5.5%, North America flat, and the Caribbean declined 2.5%. Guatemala, Belize, and El Salvador saw strong search growth. Intra-regional travel remains the backbone of demand, with rising interest from Japan and the Philippines. Emerging destinations such as Aruba, Sint Maarten, and the Cayman Islands are gaining momentum.

    FCDO advises against all but essential travel to parts of Ecuador

    The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) updated its Ecuador travel advice, advising against all but essential travel to several coastal provinces and areas within 20km of the Ecuador-Colombia border, while airside transit at Guayaquil Airport is unaffected. Ecuador's government declared a 60-day state of emergency from 15 September across eight provinces, increasing police and military presence, with a midnight-to-5am curfew in El Oro, Guayas, Los Rios and Manabi from 17 to 30 September.

    Travelport and Turkish Airlines have signed a new multi-year distribution agreement that extends a partnership dating back to 1993 and includes NDC. Turkish Airlines' content will be available through Travelport+, including NDC-only fares and advanced merchandising capabilities, with an NDC go-live expected in a future phase. The deal also offers a reduced surcharge for NDC and enables rich visual content and ancillary merchandising.
